After drawing Silver Falcon retro fuku style ( sailorsilverfalcon.deviantart.... ) I had this insane urge to do the same to the sailor scouts... I have been working on this little by little over the past week- my hand is now ready to fall off! I know there are many mistakes and inaccuracies (like with placement especially), but I am still really proud of the end result! I really put a lot of effort into this and I hope it shows!
Their poses are based off of their prototype image from the one art book (see here: silvermoon424.tumblr.com/post/... )
I spent forever looking through vintage hairstyle search results in google images for their hair inspiration! Had to give Sailor Moon victory rolls 'cuz I love that style and it looks somewhat close to her original 'do. I think Mercury's hair was my least favorite since it doesn't look super different. I loveeee Jupiter's hair! And Venus' hair is pretty, Mars' is mysterious- but I like them both pretty well. I think they all fit pretty good! For their coloring I just used their regular fuku colors, making the main skirt color the main dress color and the secondary bow color the secondary accessory/ small detail color. For Sailor Moon I really wanted her to stick out so I thought the best way to do that would be to use her Super form for inspiration, and I am glad I did! And they -almost- all had to have red lips! (sorry Minako!)
So yeah... I even tried putting a simple color block background but it doesn't really show up... Oh well! I think it is bad that I have gotten into the habit of coloring with my markers before I ink the image... I have been inking afterwards.. I'm not sure if I should keep doing that...
That's about it... So happy I am finished with this! Hope everyone likes and I love comments!
... Debating if I want to attempt to do the outers/chibi moon too.. Not sure if I want to subject myself to that just yet lol...
